THE CHILDREN’S CANCER FOUNDATION

The Children’s Cancer Foundation was awarded DKK 2 millions in 2005 in connection with Hotel d’Angleterre’s 250 years anniversary.

The actress Ghita Nørby received the donation on behalf of the Children’s Cancer Foundation at a reception at Hotel d’Angleterre, where the Royal Highness, Crown Princess Mary, also participated as the patron of The Brain Injury Association.

Minnie and Mickey from Disney were also invited to the reception, and they participated in the actual donation ceremony taking place at the four children’s cancer hospitals in Denmark.

Henning and Else Marie Remmen had specifically requested that this donation should benefit every single cancer struck child with a direct amount.

The President of The Children’s Cancer Foundation visited – along with Minnie and Mickey – the four Danish hospitals with children’s cancer departments to hand over the donation to the children.

All hospitals organized parties, and Minnie and Mickey distributed photos, autographs and gift bags for the children.

Henning and Else Marie Remmen attended the visit at Rigshospitalet, and it was a great pleasure to see the many smiles and happy children.

Subsequently, many of the children with cancer have written and drawn personal thank you letters to the Foundation. Letters, which describe how each donation has been spent according to each child’s wish.
