The Danish artist Morten Knudsen received the Remmen Foundation Art Prize 2015 of DKK 100.000 for his original and serious approach to painting. The award ceremony took place in connection with Hotel d’Angleterre’s 260 years anniversary Gala on April 25, 2015.

On behalf of the art committee – journalist Adrian Lloyd Huges presented Morten Knudsen as the first winner of the newly established Remmen Foundation Art Prize 2015.

The Remmen Foundation Art Prize aims to find and support a promising young Danish artist with a donation of DKK 100.000 each year. At the same time the artist will design the d’Angleterre Christmas card – a tradition which was introduced in 2013 when the hotel once again opened its doors after an extensive renovation in 2013.The previous years these artistic Christmas cards were painted by Thomas Kluge and Hans Voigt Steffensen.

The Prize Committee in 2015 consisted of Mette Remmen Kristiansen, Arne Wulff, Jens-Peter Brask and Adrian Lloyd-Hughes. The committee nominates the candidates and chooses the winner of the year.

Arne Wulff has also been responsible for the procurement of the art, which today adorn the walls of the Hotel d’Angleterre.

Among 30 artists from all art directions, the art committee chose artist Morten Knudsen to be the first winner. (It is not possible to apply for the Remmen Foundation Art Prize).
